It’s time for yet another #COYER! Are you excited for all the details? I know I am. I’m about to call Michelle because for the life of me… despite 2 conversations… I don’t remember what she came up with for us. That’s right y’all this one is of Michelle’s creation! Be afraid, in the best sense ๐Ÿ˜‰

The Basics

Let’s start with the basic rules and then we’ll get to the complicated.

  • The challenge begins December 16th at 12am EST and ends March 9th at 11:59pm EST.
  • You must create a sign-up post anytime between now and January 20th on blog, goodreads, fb, google+, etc. Be sure to indicate if you’re doing regular COYER or The Switch. Link your sign-up to the linky below.
  • You can choose to do regular COYER – which is the same as The Strict – or COYER Switch.
  • Link your reviews to the linky that will be provided on the Kick-off Post.
  • There will be three grand prize winners – $10 gift card – one for the linky review list, and two for Switch participants.

Of course that’s not it… way too simple for us! Now to show your three options #COYER Switch!

COYER Switch

COYER Switch has 3 components: The Strict, The List, and The One with the Twist. If you participate in COYER Switch, you’ll do each component at different times. There will be three phases:

  • December 16 – January 12
  • January 13 – February 9
  • February 10 – March 9

You can choose to do the three components in any order you’d like, but you’ll do each component once.

The Strict

This is good old strict COYER. The rules:

  1. Every book you read must be an eBook or audiobook.
  2. Every book must be either free or less than $5.
  3. No library books, borrowed books, or Kindle Unlimited.

The List

For The List, you guessed it… you’re making a list!

  1. Make a list of up to 30 books you want to read.
  2. Every book on the list must be in your possession BEFORE you put them on the list.
  3. You can add 5 new books for every 5 books you read.
  4. Books on the list can be any format, any price, obtained any LEGAL way… so that means library books, KU, borrowed, etc.

The One with the Twist

The One with the Twist is probably my favorite…

    1. You can read ANY book. ANY price. Obtained any LEGAL way.
    2. The Twist is, you have to stick with one format. If you choose audiobooks, then only the audiobooks you read during this phase will count. If you choose eBooks, then only eBooks you read during this phase will count. ETC….

Social Media

As always, we plan on bringing you lots of Social Media fun. Throughout the week, we’ll have games on Facebook. We plan on bringing you some new games to mix in with the old fun you’ve come to love.

We will also have three twitter parties – dates To Be Announced. The only change with this is, we’ve done away with book giveaways. Instead, we’ll be doing $2 gift cards to Amazon ๐Ÿ™‚

So stay tuned for specifics in Social Media and Twitter Party dates with the Kick off post!

  1. Questions: for this. 1) for the Strict-so does this mean we aren’t suppose to read anything in another format or just that ebook/audio t count? I cannot take electronic devices to work with me and I like to read on my lunch and break. Would hate to go a month and not read at all.
    2) for the Twist- would print books count as a format? Or just ebook or audio? And if so, do we need to specify down to hardback, paperback, mass market?

Thanks for hosting this! Looks like will be fun!

      • So that means I can’t participate at all if I read physical books during that month (even if I don’t count them for the challenge)? Bummer. Guess that means I cannot join then. I am not going to deny myself reading on my lunch break.

        • No you can totally participate – you just can’t count them for the challenge. You can read whatever you want – only the ebooks and audiobooks would count for the strict, the others would be for you not the challenge.

          • Ah, that is what I was trying to find out. That I can do. I’d read mostly ebooks (the challenge is perfect as I have a ton of eArcs and freebies but I couldn’t go a month and not read when I have an hr lunch break most days. But I won’t count the print books I read ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for clarifying!!!

  2. I am going to do the ‘normal’ strict COYER for sure, as I know I never read books I put on a list… I’m terrible that way ๐Ÿ™‚ Plus, with the date constraint that would just make me very unhappy ๐Ÿ™
I’m excited for COYER to start up again, even if I don’t normally do very well on the winter ones ๐Ÿ™‚
Good luck to everyone, and thanks for hosting us, ladies xoxo

    • The list just needs to be setup before the point where you decide to do this list. Yes, Netgalley titles I hand can be included on your list, for sure. The order of the phases is 100% up to you – we have the three dates setup for switch and you pick the rest. All the phases are 4 weeks ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I don’t know why I keep doing this to myself, but I chose The List again. As a mood reader, tbr lists are never completed… and yet, I love to torture myself by attempting to stick to a list xD I’m so excited for this to start!

    • Woot! Good luck ๐Ÿ™‚ I do it too, so you’re not alone. At least the list is only 1 phase, so you can mood read like crazy the other 2 phases!

    • Yep! I forgot to add that one to the list of options, but it’s 100 % ok. I didn’t know you were closing the blog ๐Ÿ™ but I get it… Seeing as I was that close to stopping completely this summer. I’m glad you’ll still participate!

  4. I have noticed you don’t monetize your website, don’t waste your traffic, you can earn additional cash every month because you’ve got high quality
content. If you want to know how to make extra bucks, search for: Boorfe’s

    • Sorry didn’t see this until now, hope it wasn’t too long that you got the answer in COYER FB group ๐Ÿ™‚ forgot about audible romance, but we’re treating it the same as KU.

  5. On the Strict I plan on reading books from my Netgalley account I’ve not gotten to yet. If I find them at the library on audio can I listen and they still count? I’m only thinking about to that because I can get through more books since I can listen at work. I have them all downloaded to my Kindle so I got them before COYER started.
